The Mindfulness based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) was designed & developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre.

MBSR is an 8-week course based on more than 30 years of clinical experience.

UMass Center for Mindfulness sums up the benefits  of this program on their website, "MBSR has emerged as an effective, scientifically-tested method for reducing physical and psychological suffering while building resilience, balance and peace of mind.
